๐ข๐ Renters Reform Bill Update โณ๐๏ธ
When are we going to hear about the Renters Reform Bill next? Click and read on for more details ๐
๐ฃ๐
It has been over 5 weeks since the Bill had its first reading in the House of Commons, but unfortunately, we still don't have any news on when the second reading debate will take place. ๐ค
Now, here's where it gets interesting. Parliament is set to take a summer recess starting from 22 July, and it won't resume until September. โ๏ธ This means that time is running out, as the Bill's second reading debate didn't make it to the list of business for the House of Commons next week or the provisional list for the week of 10 July. ๐ฎ Additionally, the week of 17 July is when two by-elections are scheduled to take place. โ๏ธ๐ณ๏ธ
Now, I won't speculate about the reasons for the delay, but the outcome is worth noting. It's becoming increasingly unlikely that the Bill will receive Royal Assent before the end of this parliamentary session in the autumn. ๐๐ซ
