Owners Comments...

We made the easy choice of purchasing this house 15 years ago as our family home because we loved the location, close to amenities, the off street parking, spacious light rooms, large southerly facing garden and the extra spaces of the garden room and garage. Our children have grown up here and we have many happy memories to take away with us. South Ruislip Tube Station on the Central Line is a few minutes walk away which we use for Central London and Westfield Shopping Centre. Cineworld, shops, restaurants and pubs to enjoy are just around the corner and close by are a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants in nearby Ruislip, Ruislip Manor and Eastcote.
The property is in the catchment area of many popular schools. Our children attended Field End Infant and Junior Schools, Ruislip High and Queensmead. St. Mary’s park is hidden behind the church and other parks/ green spaces are dotted around nearby. A trip to Ruislip Lido was a favourite when the children were younger.
Our mature, Southerly facing garden never fails to bloom with colourful plants and flowers every spring. It’s not directly overlooked and we’ve enjoyed many celebrations with family and friends there. The flexible garden room has evolved from Children’s Playroom to Office over the years. We have lovely neighbours and will miss them and hope to find such friendly neighbours again in the future.

For decades, the flat was the natural starting point for many first-time home buyers. The first rung of the ladder. The affordable option. The stepping stone to something bigger. For landlords, it was a dependable investment. For first-time buyers, it was often the only way in.

Across the UK and here in Bicester, the property market remains surprisingly active despite the issues at home and abroad. House prices are steady, buyers are still being selective, and the market itself is evolving.

The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) suggest something rather unexpected. After years of worsening affordability, the picture has begun to improve. Wages have risen faster than house prices since 2021, nudging the headline affordability ratios in the right direction. On the face of it, that feels like progress.
