Do you see yourself living in one of these Royal residences?

To keep in line with the royal weekend, we thought we’d have a look at some properties that are owned by the Royal family. Ranging from the well-known Buckingham palace all the way to the lesser known properties, such as Fort Belvedere.

1. Buckingham Palace

It’s safe to say this is probably the most known property on this list! Buckingham Palace has remained the official London residence of the Royal family since 1837. The palace has a total of 775 rooms, including 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices, 78 bathrooms, 52 royal and guest bedrooms and 19 state rooms.

Avocado valuation from Mike: Seeing as it’s a detached property in prime location with plenty of parking, I would value this property anywhere from £200-250million.

2. Kensington Palace

The birthplace and childhood home of the Queen, this 547 room palace is the London home and office to a number of Royals, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. You can rent out the palace for special events such as weddings or charity events. Although we’re sure the prices are eye watering.

Did you know that a reigning monarch has not lived there for over 250 years? Although home to many Royal family members, no King or Queen has lived there since 1837 when Queen Victoria left to live at Buckingham Palace.

3. Fort Belvedere

Part of Windsor Estate, Fort Belvedere was built in the Gothic revival style in the 1820s. It boasts a 59 acre estate within the grounds of Windsor Great Park. The property was renovated by Edward VIII during his stay to include horse stables, a swimming pool and tennis courts.

Rumours have started that the forgotten castle may become the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's official new home.

4.      Sandringham House

This 19,000-acre estate is a private residence of the Royal family near Norfolk. The Royal family usually celebrates Christmas at
Sandringham House and attended religious services at the church located on the grounds. It is a home of Queen Elizabeth that she inherited from her father in 1952, and one of the few privately owned properties of the royal family.

5. Balmoral Castle

Located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, this castle serves as the Queen’s summer home and sits on 50,000 acres with 150 buildings.
As Balmoral was a favourite of Queen Victoria as well, you can find many things leftover from her and Albert’s time there. One of which is a statue of her favourite collie, Noble, who died at age 16.

Sadly we haven’t got any castles or palaces for sale (yet!) but if you’re looking for your next home or looking to move from your current house, get in contact with us on the link below
