Teeing Off for a Great Cause in Stevenage

Ricky, our partner agent in Stevenage, joined the annual Stevenage Community Trust Golf Day to help raise over £12,000 for local families in need. From sponsoring a hole to rallying two teams, it was a day of connection, generosity, and giving back to the community he proudly serves.

Last week, Ricky, our partner agent in Stevenage, took part in the annual Stevenage Community Trust Golf Day, joining a wide range of local businesses and residents to raise money for some of the area’s most important causes.

The event, which has become a key date in the local fundraising calendar, was a full day of golf, connection, and giving back.

Ricky entered two teams and sponsored a hole as part of his continued commitment to getting involved in local events that make a difference. But beyond the scorecards and the sunshine, the day was all about community.

“Supporting the local community has always been important to me. This charity does incredible work right here in our area, offering vital support to families. The auction after is a way of generating additional great value and prizes that are worth winning.” - Ricky Veale

The Stevenage Community Trust provides essential support to families and individuals who are facing hardship. From emergency financial aid to funding for school equipment, youth initiatives, and local grassroots groups, the Trust's work touches a wide range of people across the borough.

The golf day wasn’t just a fundraiser, it was a celebration of everything that makes local communities strong: generosity, teamwork, and people coming together for a shared purpose.

The post-event auction offered the chance to raise even more funds, with a range of brilliant prizes donated by supporters and businesses alike.

By the end of the day, an impressive £12,568 had been raised, a figure that will go directly toward initiatives such as:

Heating more than 40 vulnerable homes this winter
Providing Christmas gift cards for over 80 children and families
Equipping local schools and community groups with much-needed supplies

For Ricky and everyone at avocado property, events like this are a chance to show what being part of a local business truly means.

It’s about building relationships, supporting others, and making sure we give back wherever we can.

We’re incredibly proud to support the work of the Stevenage Community Trust and look forward to many more opportunities to work alongside them in the future.

North Swindon and surrounding villages like Purton are heading into 2026 with a steady hand. Pricing is stable, demand is consistent and improving affordability is starting to bring cautious buyers back into the market. For sellers, this quarter offers a realistic, opportunity-filled window to act.

As 2025 ends, the UK property market shows caution and optimism. December saw average new seller asking prices fall 1.8% to £358,138, leaving them 0.6% below 2024. Budget uncertainty slowed activity, especially at the top end, but easing mortgage rates and rising wages point to a post-Christmas rebound and a stronger 2026.

As we hit the third week of December, the Sandhurst property market does slow down ready for the big day. It’s at this time of year, I like to work out the total value of every home in Sandhurst, and how that value has changed since 2010 (as that was the bottom of the market after the Credit Crunch).

As we enter a new year, many local homeowners are facing a familiar question. Should they bring their Stevenage home to market in January, or wait until the late spring?
